About 93% of all the information present in any moment of contact is nonverbal, composed of gestures, body language, facial expressions, micro-facial expressions, and the pitch, speed and spacing of words. We are all unconsciously able to 'read' nonverbal content, which often is experienced as a 'gut' feeling or 'something about a person' that invites us to trust or warns us to steer clear of them.
Learning to decode non verbal language is an extraordinary asset in both professional and personal communication, giving us a window into the hidden or suppresed thoughts and emotions of an individual. When we can more objectively assess someone during an interview - or first date - we are much less likely to repeat errors in judgment based on our own blind spots and unconscious prejudices. The body does not lie.
Who can benefit? Employers, Managers, Parents, Teachers, Therapists, Police Officers, Lawyers, Sales people...well virtually anyone.
Training in Non Verbal Communication is a valuable asset for everyone, and serves to foster understanding and open communication in the boardroom as well as the bedroom.
